249/365 - My New Friend

So I decided to buy a medicine ball to help me with my workouts. It's been a great investment and I plan on using it a ton to add a new variety to my workouts.

248/365 - Yeah Free Books!

Another teacher got a local store to donate some books for our school and we drew at random for who would get them and I won for our grade level! Gotta love more books!

244/365 - Around the World

My kids love to play Around the World. They especially like when I let them be the person who gets to hold the card. I've been drilling them on addition and subtraction facts and the work is clearly paying off. For me, I remember playing all the time at St. Gerard. I've always been good at math, but there were always a few people who were a little bit better. I remember to this day beating Stuart Mora, the smartest kid in my class once. I was 7 years old and haven't forgotten how excited I was!

240/365 - Really!?!

So I've spent ALL day working on school stuff (as I usually do on Sundays) and I was looking up creative ways for my students to practice their spelling words at home, rather than just writing each word 3 times or something lame like that. I begin to type into Google, "fun ways to" and these are the auto suggestions I got. I laughed for quite a while. Oh Google, you are funny.

239/365 - Hope

2010. The start of a new year is upon us already and now is the time to reflect upon the past year as well as contemplate what we hope the next year will bring. Hope is a powerful tool. Hope is what keeps us moving when we want to give up. Hope is the break of sun through the clouds. Hope is faith holding out its hand in the dark. With so many days left of this new year, there is a lot that I hope to see or accomplish in the many days ahead.

01. Run a 5K (and something bigger if possible.) I want to start small and build from there.
02. Become more of an established photographer. Take more pictures for people. Get my name out there. Inspire people with my work. Begin what I hope to be my professional photography career.
03. Take time every day (even if it's just for a few minutes) to relax and meditate on what I am grateful for.
04. Continue with Project 365 when this batch ends.
05. Travel. There are places I want to go and things I want to see and do, I just hope I have the time and finances to do it. Or maybe the urge will be so strong that I will ignore the time and money factors and do it anyways.
06. Sell some of my artwork (paintings or photographs) and begin to make a profit for what I do.

Hope keeps us hanging on. Hope inspires us to always look for the best that is to come.

238/365 - Lifting

"A cloud does not know why it moves in just such a direction and at such a speed...It feels an impulsion...this is the place to go now. But the sky knows the reasons and the patterns behind all clouds, and you will know, too, when you lift yourself high enough to see beyond horizons."

Here's to a new year and more adventures!
