8/365 - Playscapes
Anyone who knows me could probably tell you one, if not both of my two favorite things to photograph. The first is stairs. Always in black and white. I love staircases... I don't know why. I have a huge collection of black and white photographs, a good percentage of which are of stairs. I don't know why, but they always catch my eye. The second thing I enjoy is pictures that allow me to play with shadows. There are so many cool things to do with shadows and I had a great opportunity to get some shots today at a playground. We all know I'm just a big kid, so naturally I tend to enjoy playgrounds just as much (if not more) than your average eight year old. It happens. Playgrounds are a happy place. They are one of those places I always enjoyed going as a kid... Wacousta, Patriarch Park, Delta Mills, Sharp Park... all of these were playgrounds I frequented as a kid and still travel to on occasion. My favorite parks are the giant wooden ones. There is always so much to do and so many different things to explore. For some reason it never seems to get old for me. I've always loved swings. Swings and monkey bars. I miss the days when I could actually do the monkey bars without my feet touching the ground. Being 5'7 sure takes some of the enjoyment out of an old pastime of mine. Ah well, such is life!
